I’ve created a real-time interactive wind blueprint for Unreal Engine 4 to simulate the sound of wind traveling over the player’s ears. The wind sounds are completely binaural and adaptive, depending on the source of the wind and the rotation of the player’s head.

Settings such as the direction of the wind source, the amount of variation in random wind shifts, frequency of gusts, and overall wind intensity are easily editable by the user.

Wind in games has always been a great way to add atmosphere. Up until now, that wind was always disconnected from the player. With the enhancements of technology and VR, we have come a long way in immersing the player into virtual worlds visually, but audio has generally not changed in how it's utilized.

With this blueprint, I hope to add immersion in regards to how the player hears the environment by introducing the character's physical ears to first person games. Everyday we hear how our ears affect air as it passes over them, and we take that for granted. Recreating this phenomenon in games adds a whole new level to believability and immersion.

OpenEXR can support multiple layers of imagery, but Photoshop can't read or save layered EXR files...unless you have ProEXR. Store all your layers in one file and read them into After Effects, Nuke, Shake, and Fusion. Or in one step save layers as individual files for programs that are less EXR savvy. ProEXR will also read all the image buffers created by modern 3D renderers and place each in its own Photoshop layer.
ProEXR lets you choose from all the compression options available in OpenEXR. Most EXR compression is lossless, but one of the most interesting options is a lossy method similar to JPEG, applied to the world of floating point.
Using B44 compression and Luminance/Chroma sampling, HDR images can be crushed to a fraction of their uncompressed size, usually without visible artifacts, only in ProEXR.

This Modular Building Set is designed to give developers complete creative freedom and control over building sizes, shapes, colors, styles, and structure.

The building is ready for Interiors!! Currently it is setup to only support interiors on the first floor of the building as presented in the video and screenshots. I have not created any interior propping or polish assets for this pack. Everything was created using the tiling textures and assets that I have provided in the pack. I would still recommend purchasing an interior props pack to use this feature to its fullest.

I have designed the assets to allow for swapping of multiple materials types. In most cases, the UV's and texture layouts allow for the use of up to 4 different material types on any given surface. Such as bricks, tiles, metal, and concrete. Color pick your own metal, tile, and cloth "IN-ENGINE" and even during run-time (this must be scripted) using my uniquely constructed shader networks. I have already provided some material instances with colors selected in the Engine for examples of color palettes. All Textures have been hand made by myself using mostly high-poly models sculpted in Zbrush or modeled in Maya for the highest quality shaders.

The pieces are completely modular and interchangeable with one another. Don't be afraid to be bold and try some unique and bizarre combinations and layouts with this pack. I think you will be surprised by its versatility.

Creating a Waffle Structure with Grasshopper and Rhinoscript

In this course, you are going to learn how to create a non-standard stereotomy (or what people normally call “waffle structures”) using Grasshopper and Rhinoscript.

We´ll start by creating a double curvature surface as our host geometry. Then we´ll use this one to extract our waffle-like structure from it by creating a parametric definition that will allow use to control the position and number of surface elements.

Then you are going to learn how to code a script to automatize all the connections or notches of your elements.

Finally, we will lay down all the resulting surfaces with their connections in our X,Y Plane and label them, so we can later laser cut and assemble in a physical study model.
