This time we will show you how Houdini can be used for developing a sand solver. This tutorial does not use the “Grain Solver” tool which is available in Houdini 14. Instead we will develop a new tool based on “Flip Object” to simulate sand so Houdini 13 users can also follow this tutorial. By developing and using this solver based on Flip object, you can take advantage of flip simulation speed and you will also have various parameters available so you can control the behavior of flip object and achieve the desired results in a reasonable simulation time. Moreover, in this training video we will show you an excellent method that can be used to turn a low-resolution simulation into high-resolution simulation which will also speed up your workflow. You also can use this method for other simulations like “POP simulations” to convert your low-resolution simulation to high-resolution simulation. All this and more is included in this video. Enjoy!
