Lynda - Creating Cinemagraphs and Plotagraphs

0
0
Cinemagraphs are static photos that contain areas of motion. These specialized graphics—which are essentially high-end, animated GIFs—can be leveraged for dynamic advertising, or to help you stand out on social media. In this course, learn how to use Photoshop, After Effects, and other tools to explore the creative options of cinemagraphs. In addition, learn how to create plotagraphs with Plotagraph Pro, which allows you to create dynamic content from static photos. While plotagraphs are similar to cinemagraphs, the starting point and execution is very different.

Join Rich Harrington as he walks through how to create cinemagraphs in a variety of different programs, and how to create plotagraphs with Plotagraph Pro. Throughout the course, Rich shares helpful shooting and post-production techniques to help you improve your end results.

Topics include:

What are cinemagraphs?
Essential shooting techniques
Composing a dynamic shot
When to shoot video for cinemagraphs
Determining frame size and frame rate
Developing strategies for cinemagraphs and plotagraphs
Creating cinemagraphs with Photoshop, Flixel, and Cliplets
Creating plotagraphs with Plotagraph Pro
Optimizing cinemagraphs and plotagraphs
Recompressing video with Adobe Media Encoder and Apple Compressor
Posting dynamic content to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram

3DMotive - Character Design in Photoshop Volume 2

0
0
In Character Design in Photoshop we will cover the design phase of one character meant for a video game production and transferable to other media, from first conception to fully rendered splash or key art for promotional purposes. Students will learn how to initially thumbnail a design before taking it to a rough and then finalized front/back character rotation, including this character’s costume and equipment. Further exploration into this character’s backstory and personality will also result in several design sheets. These include an expression sheet, passive acting pose sheet and action pose sheet. Students will also later delve further into development of this character’s in-game costume and equipment, and even be introduced to producing basic thumbnails or keyframes to explore how this character may move during gameplay or combat. Finally, students will be introduced to a simple, step by step method that will take them from thumbnail phase to a finished, polished and full colour render of their character. This final volume covers everything from nailing down a solid pose, dynamic composition, colour choices and preparing the image to be painted. A series of lighting and shadow passes, followed by a detailed polish and special effects step will complete the illustration. Upon completing this series, the student will have an in-depth glimpse into what it takes to design a single character for video games or other media.

SOLIDWORKS 2017 is the 24th annual release of CAD (MCAD, ECAD), simulation, data management and collaboration tools that delivers the power our users need to drive innovation. In this release, 90 percent of the enhancements are driven by user feedback. Thank you to all SOLIDWORKS users worldwide who invited us into your companies, provided feedback in forums, wrote email suggestions and helped us create SOLIDWORKS 2017.

This year, you will find more than 250 new features and enhancements in CAD alone with a total of 520 new enhancements spread across all products. Beyond improving day-to-day productivity, approximately 20 percent of those involve new innovations. There are many core CAD enhancements such as variable Chamfer, super features that convert Chamfer to a Fillet for flexible modeling, advanced hole, enhancements to import mesh files, wrap feature, offset surface, better placement of components while mating that can deliver up to 5X in performance improvements over SOLIDWORKS 2016. https://softarchive.la/.../tomorrowland2/ Magnetic mates with speedpack enhancements makes it fast and easy to manage large modular assemblies. The list for CAD is long and it is best to take a look at what’s new or attend your reseller’s 2017 launch event for a deeper dive.

Like CAD, there are many innovations in simulation with advanced nonlinear (arc length control), better visualization of hot spots, etc. There are over 100 enhancements in SOLIDWORKS Electrical alone. Extending the ECAD ecosystem, we are introducing SOLIDWORKS PCB powered by Altium, and SOLIDWORKS 2017 is the first full major release for SOLIDWORKS PCB. Now, customers like Myomo can design its full system from PCB boards to electrical wiring, to mechanical and simulation of its connected device in a single environment. The best-in-class collaboration between mechanical, electrical and PCB engineers allows SOLIDWORKs customers to decrease development costs, significantly improve time to market and reduce the number of prototypes and errors.

New in SOLIDWORKS 2017 is Term Licensing in additional to perpetual licensing model. This allows SOLIDWORKS customers to scale on demand, purchase from OPEX budget and entrepreneurs and startups to design in SOLIDWORKS while getting a Term License. The customers will have full flexibility – they can purchase SOLIDWORKS as Perpetual or a quarterly/annual Term License options. With SOLIDWORKS 2017, CAD and Structural Simulation products are delivered as a Term License option with very attractive pricing options. The rest of the product line will be available as Term License sequentially in future releases.

What's new

SOLIDWORKS 2017

With more core power and performance, and new capabilities for emerging technologies, it’s never been easier to design and create with SOLIDWORKS®, the design and development solution chosen by more than 3.1 million users worldwide. Here is a sampling of the new key features to help improve your workflow.

INNOVATE – New capabilities to help you incorporate emerging technologies
DESIGN – More core power and performance to get your job done faster
VALIDATE – Greater design ideas that lead to breakthrough innovations
COLLABORATE – Unlock any 3D model to work with
SOLIDWORKSBUILD & MANAGE – Data integration from concept to manufacturing to drive business needs

What's new in Service Pack 3.0:

- Multiple Locked Concentric Mates
In assemblies with multiple locked concentric mates, the software might erroneously report the mates as over-defined. You can fix the problem by selectively unlocking affected concentric mates. If a component that was fully-constrained becomes under-constrained, it may be necessary to change which concentric mate is locked.
- SOLIDWORKS PCB
The SOLIDWORKS PCB user interface is now available in Japanese.

OS: Windows 7 SP1/8.1/10 x64
Windows x32 and Windows XP / Vista / 7 SP0 / 8 - not supported

description

This training is an update to the Tea and Cookies training. The training covers fairly similar topics such as modeling, shading, lighting and rendering. The primary difference is that instead of Mantra the training focuses on using the third party render engines namely, Redshift, Octane and Arnold.

Part 1 of the training will cover modeling and building the entire scene. This will be done using a variety of methods including the basic poly modeling tools, VDB, fluid simulation, POP grains and also some basic copy stamping.

Part 2 is available in two variants, for now, Redshift and Octane. This part will focus on lighting ans rendering the scene. However the primary focus is on building all the various shaders required for the scene. We'll build a majority of the shaders using procedural textures. The training will also cover SSS, displacement and building fluid shaders using absorption. We will also build relatively detailed metal and plastic shaders.

Content Details - 10 Video Chapters (with Audio)

Duration - 163 mins

lesson plan - Redshift

basic render and light setup including HDRs
building the cake shader using acombination of noise maps and SSS and ambient occlusion maps
making the Ice cream shader
building the chocolate sauce shader using absorption and SSS
making the sprinkles shader using houdini attributes to generate random colors
