Apprentice
- Wokkie Gort

Concepting in 3D has never been easier. Bring function and purpose to your designs using Fusion 360 under the guidance of industry veteran Kirill Chepizhko. Following this professional pipeline, you'll learn valuable techniques to help land your first gig.

Lessons in this Course
Software Used: Fusion 360, Adobe Photoshop, Keyshot 6

Intro to CAD

Learn to wrap your brain around the foundations of computer-aided design, otherwise known as CAD. In this lesson, Kirill will give you a crash course in Fusion 360, and show you how to use the basic tools and workflows necessary to get your project started on the right path.

Modeling Props

Dig deeper into the toolsets of Fusion 360 and use them to start crafting complex props of your own. Kirill will teach you how to break down real-world objects with overpaints, to help you reimagine them as objects constructed in CAD.

Complex Systems

Many objects are more complex than they may appear at first glance. Here, Kirill will teach you how to add greater detail to your props, test them in motion, and assemble multiple parts into a cohesive whole by wrapping things up in Fusion 360.

Finalizing Your Project

Once the modeling process is complete, our goal is to create several portfolio-ready final images. To wrap things up, Kirill will show you his rendering and post production process in both Keyshot and Photoshop so you can present your project to the world.

Take control of your lines!

Lazy Nezumi Pro is a Windows app that helps you draw smooth, beautiful lines, with your mouse or pen tablet.

It works with your favorite art programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and many others.

Why do I need it?

Clean line-art taking forever?

Forced to make fast strokes to avoid seeing any jitters?

Pressing really hard to use the full pressure range of your tablet?

The uneven pressure in your strokes?

Art software leaving ugly artifacts at the end of your lines?

Handshaking when you draw?

App cursor getting in the way when drawing details?

Switching software in the middle of your work because your main art program doesn't support input smoothing?

If any of this sounds familiar, you will love Lazy Nezumi Pro!

A lot of focus is often placed on the tools we use for post-production work. The truth is, there is a good amount of crossover between applications when working on most projects. This course takes a deeper look at different techniques for common roto, matte creation and paint projects, using a range of applications. Our main toolset includes mocha and SilhouetteFX, but we also delve into compositing programs, Nuke and After Effects and 3D tracking.

The main focus is fundamental tricks for keeping your roto and matte creation fast and the results appropriate and accurate. The shots we are working on often require a holistic approach, blending some tough motion tracking, rotoscoping and paint. We start with beauty retouch and different rotoscoping techniques. As the course continues, we add some cleanplate creation and rig removal.

Ben Brownlee is a VFX artist, digital media specialist and instructor with 11 years of industry experience across a number of disciplines. He works extensively with leading Scandinavian fashion brands as co-owner of Husk Os (www.huskos.com) and has worked on various broadcast, TVC and feature projects across the globe.

Gumroad – Tech Heavy Pro Kit (400+ 2d-3d Elements)

$

This is the complete Tech Heavy Kit containing all the 2d and 3d elements you will need to create amazing concepts! This kit includes the following:

3d elements - Over 200 individual elements from my own personal kit that I've been using for over 3 years to create concepts in my professional work. Finding different ways to combine these elements is both fun and quick! I frequently use these elements to create concepts in less than 30 minutes that would otherwise take days from scratch!

Created in 3DS Max, provided with OBJ, FBX and ABC

2d Photoshop Tech Heavy Brushes - Using the 3d elements I created a bespoke set of 80 brushes to use in any program that supports Photoshop brushes. The endless creative potential these brushes have can really push your imagination to the limit! Use them to create industrial cityscapes, Mech robots, weapons, or simply use them to add texture to existing artwork to make your work really pop out!

Tech Heavy 2d Elements - This is a PSD file containing the 3d elements rendered at high resolution. You can use these like building bricks to quickly design industrial elements such as robots, weapons, equipment and so forth. Simple extract the desired elements, move them around, cut them up, transform them as you like into a desired configuration.

Tech Heavy Stickers - This is a collection of PSDs that were used to create the brushes. These are bespoke designs using the 2d Elements to help give you an extra boost! Like the above 2d elements, you will use these in a similar way to evolve your ideas.

The over all concept of these 2d and 3d elements, is to provide a kit by where you can remove the need to build original parts, and simply focus on making creative choices by combining elements and moving them around into unique compositions. Personally I find this process a lot of fun, I love the process of taking a few simple elements, moving them around and arranging them in new ways. It's surprising how many unique ideas you can create from a few simple elements. Now imagine what you can do with 80 brushes, 200 3d elements, and over 280 unique 2d elements!

I've included contact sheets and personal examples of what I created, including the original .PSD file for the robot concept.
