What is PortraitStudio?
PortraitStudio offers you full control. It revolutionizes reference development and generation, projecting a virtual equivalent of real-world access to models, studio and lighting. Control over the camera allows you to take snapshots of the models from any angles needed, the studio pin-light allows control over light intensity, angle distance and rotation along a z-axis. Allow your players to customize their characters in-game! If you liked the character personalization tools found in most classic RPG games and want to replicate them in your own project, this extensive and easy-to-use designer gives you or your players the ability to change anything from general body type to facial features.
4 basic body types form the groundwork for each character. You can also blend between these body types to get a unique appearance. The pack also comes with save slot functionality allowing you to save the settings on your character design.
There are also several hairstyles and they all work for both Genders! You can easily add your own hair since the system uses simple static meshes attached to slots. When the design process is done you can click the “Bake” button to draw all of the blended materials to a single rendertarget that is much cheaper to use. The body materials have been separated by limbs, torso, and head so that you may hide unused body parts for optimization.
The model comes already rigged for animation and is compatible with the Epic skeleton template. The user interface is fully functional and game ready.

In this course, Pixar character artist, Daniel Arriaga, will teach you his creative process for designing an animated film cast that will spark a connection with your audience and tell a riveting story.

This course is aimed at 3D artists, curious about virtual photography generally, and jewellery visualisations specifically. During the lessons you will get a compact introduction to various techniques for creating photo realistic jewellery renders in 3D. The skills acquired can obviously be applied to other areas of visualization.
Preparation
We’ll begin by checking out some physical equipment that is more or less essential for jewellery re-production, we’ll have a closer look at some real jewellery and talk about precious metals.
Shoot day
To create a path for this course and to get the best reference possible, we follow a professional photographer on a jewellery shoot. Watch and learn, as we are going to replicate these real life lighting techniques throughout the course.
Modelling
Then we will model a real jewellery collection by using various techniques and applications. For the main technique, SDS modeling we are going to use Maxons Cinema4D, where we’ll also look at how to build semi procedural setups. Then we’ll take a quick look at additional applications suitable for jewellery modelling. SideFX Houdini for its procedural workflow and VDB modeling suite and McNeels Rhino that features Advanced NURBS modeling, used for real jewellery production.
Shading
The shading chapters are about creating a physically correct and photorealistic conductors (metals). We are going to cover Cinema4D physical render and Solidangles Arnold (5). The techniques are however applicable to other physically based renders.
Lighting / Rendering
In these paramount chapters we create virtual studios by adapting setups from the photo shoot. Also here, we try out both Cinema4d physical and Arnold render. We’re gonna circle around some different techniques and additional applications to assist with this area.
Production Advise
We round off with some invaluable information on how to proceed with Jewellery Visualizations
After completing this course, you will have a solid understanding about visualising jewellery, making photorealistic renders, which applications can be used for what, and how much time is needed to get the job done. Scene files and textures are included - or linked to. All Images in the trailer is made by using the techniques from the course.
