Not to forget ... a very powerful little program turns from a picture in 3D models.

Released by MetaCreations Corp. in 1999, this application allowed users to create 3D models based on one or more photographs taken from various angles. This process is known as photogrammetry. The user "pinned" the corners of wireframe primitives over real world shapes such as buildings, boxes, cylinders and other geometric shapes (it could not really handle organic shapes), the application then dynamically extrapolated the perspective, angles and shapes and produced a 3D realization, applying the textures from the photograph(s) onto the models. Sides of the models unseen in the original photograph could be "mirrored" from the visible sides. The results could be animated and exported as a QuickTime movie or exported in the interactive browser-based MetaStream format (now known as Viewpoint).

One of the goals for Unity 2018.2 has been to build on the Scriptable Render Pipelines (SRPs) in order to enable next-level rendering. Another focus area has been to develop a range of features and improvements that will help you succeed in mobile. Let’s take a brief look at what we’ve done in these two areas before going into more detail on the entire release.

Unity 2018.2 optimizes the performance of the Lightweight Render Pipeline (LWRP) and enhances the High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) to help you achieve high-end visual quality, including multiple improvements to the Shader Graph, which now supports both pipelines (please note that both the LWRP and HDRP are currently in preview.)

We also added support for managed code debugging on iOS and Android, Windows, macOS, UWP and PS4 for IL2CPP, and we started adding some mobile optimizations to the Lightweight Render Pipeline (LWRP).

For Android projects, 64-bit (ARM64) support gets its final release, and we now let you add Java code to your Unity plugins folder without needing to create libraries in advance.

Finally, several new 2D features are available as Preview packages, including the Vector Graphics importer and Pixel Perfect. The Vector Graphics importer makes it easier for you to work with SVG graphics, and Pixel Perfect makes it easier for you to achieve a perfect retro look across different resolutions on a wide range of devices.

In Rocky ground in Substance Designer, you will learn the basic understanding of the PBR Workflow and what to do (or what not to do) to achieve the PBR look. The basic Workflow for Substance Designer and the Quixel Mixer is very important, in order to easily achieve some nice looking results. After that we start with some basic rock shapes in Substance Designer. Once we are happy with our shapes we start to add smaller rocks and pebbles, which will be blended together. In addition to this, we will create some nice looking cracks on the rocks to give it a older look and some history. After we have finished our base in Substance Designer we will switch to the Quixel Mixer, where we will add some dirt and water. In the end I show everybody how to get some nice Renderings in Unreal Engine and in Marmoset Toolbag.
