Using a live model this demonstration takes you through a process of how to design the forms of the costume.

All of it based on observation and foundational drawing skills combined with strong design principles. In this video you will learn how to envision the form underneath the clothing and streamline what you see into a cohesive design.

Too often costumes are simply sketched over your characters and the models in life drawing sessions but its time to take it further. Dont just draw it, design it!

This is new in LRTimelapse 4.2

Support for the new Local Whites and Local Blacks tools in Lightroom CC2015.1

Added Italian language support (big thanks to Gabriele Lorenzini from

Shifted the interval-display by one image.
This means the first image of a sequence will not display an interval in the table now and each subsequent image will display the interval to its predecessor. This seems more logical to me.
LRTimelapse will now start with the visual workflow by default. If it detects a JPG sequence, it will automatically select the Simple Workflow
Added a right mouse context menu to any folder (left side in the tree): ?Clear all LRTimelapse editing? ? this will remove all XMP files, Previews, Sequence-Settings and Snapshots from the current folder and thus allow to start from scratch, if you encounter any troubles.
Removed expert setting ?deflicker may change keyframes?, since it?s obsolete with the new way deflicker works in LRT4.
Removed ?Initialize Sequence after Import? from Import dialog, since it?s obsolete with the implicit initializing in LRT4.
Some smaller fixes

Digital Tutors - Building a Toy Plane for 3D Printing in Maya and Mudbox

$

0
In this Maya and Mudbox tutorial, we’ll learn how to create a mesh that will be ready for 3D printing.

We’ll use a deceptively simple exercise and create an assemble-able model of a 1930s GeeBee Racer. We’ll start by creating pieces that fit into slots in the individual pieces of the model. Then we’ll animate those pieces to assemble over a 15-second animation. Along the way, we’ll delve into some tools and concepts in Maya such as the Multi-Cut tool, Target Weld and the Shrinkwrap command.
By the end of this Maya and Mudbox training, you’ll have a prepared model ready to print on the Form +1 printer using their PreForm software

Lynda – Pen Tool Fundamentals

$

Creating precise lines, curves, and shapes with the Pen tool is challenging to learn and even tougher to master, but the power it gives your drawings is worth the effort. Even though the technology has been in Adobe products for decades, there are countless people who have yet to learn the proper way to use it. In this course, Deke McClelland introduces the basic features of the Pen tool and its functionality across the three main graphic design programs in the Creative Cloud suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. He covers the structure of a path outline, reviews the different kinds of anchor points and control handles, and dedicates a chapter to the Pen tool's peculiarities in each program. He also introduces some alternatives to the Pen tool, so you can choose what works best for your drawing needs.
Topics include:

Understanding how anchor points, segments, and control handles work
Adding and deleting anchor points
Working with smooth and cusp points
Selecting and deselecting with the arrow tools
Drawing vector-based paths
Connecting open paths
Repositioning points and segments as you draw
Inserting and deleting points on the fly
Converting multiple points with a single click
