Beginning with the basic workflow needed to get up and running, Alessandro then delves into the various features and tools used to create a complete natural environment while taking advantage of Clarisse's powerful ability to handle complex scenes that contain billions of polygons. Alessandro shows how to customize the user interface, manage assets within the browser and attribute editor, work with objects, merge hard surface and vegetation assets in the Alembic file format and navigate 3D views with interactive real-time rendering. He then covers depth-of-field, the creation of shading groups and materials using the node-based material editor and guides you through managing a scene in Clarisse by organizing groups, contexts and combiners. Using particle cloud and particle baking, he efficiently scatters a large amount of plants and shows the optimal settings for pathtracer quality and speed. Finally, Alessandro takes you through the lighting setup for a large-scale environment using sun light, dome light, IES profiles and many other lighting techniques. At the end of this workshop, you should have a solid, introductory understanding of Clarisse with the knowledge to create a multitude of different environments, complete with shaders and lighting.

In Introduction to Lighting for Animation, Lighting and Compositing TD Alex Corll shares his process of lighting a shot from start to finish using Maya, Arnold and Nuke. This includes researching reference images and assessing your scene, initial scene optimization, and additional tips to help speed up your workflow. He starts with establishing base lighting using an appropriate HDRI, and progresses to setting up a key light, fill light, and additional accent lights. He discusses some tips for using blockers and light filters in Arnold, as well as adding specific lights to accent the character and leverage animation in the scene. He then discusses adding atmosphere and realism using volumetric lighting. Finally, Alex concludes with an overview of render layers and final image output, including render settings and some basic compositing in Nuke to produce a fully lit, final image.

A powerful, blink-script powered render engine for Nuke, that lets you create, modulate and render dense energy effects.

Unlike other renderers for Nuke, the PointRender is using image data rather than geo data, meaning that you can easily modify it using all of the build in 2d nodes.
Think of it as a fancy way of rendering your p-world pass.

The Point Render comes with a series of nodes such as Generators, Modifiers, Shaders and Utilities. They make it easy to create complex looks and to quickly iterate them to nail that final look.

The name “Point Render” comes from the fact that it renders out out additive 1 pixel sized points, which gives that crisp and sharp look.

You need a lot of points to fill out the screen, but PointRender can easily handle millions and millions of points, all at interactive speeds, so your system's RAM size is the only limitation.

It’s created using only native nuke nodes. which means it will work with every version of nuke from now on, without requiring updates.

The point render was created to feed the demand for fast, dense, quantitative -point rendering. Dense displacements does not need to take minutes to pre-calculate.
Speed does not only give some extra flexibility, but also boosts creativity.
