Creating a believable, yet stylized animal is no easy task. In this course, Stylized Animal Modeling for Games, you'll be taken through all of the steps necessary to get you started on creating a stylized animal in Zbrush and a solid foundation for creating any animal in the future. You will start off by looking at the concept art and going over the importance of using anatomy reference to create believability even when creating a stylized sculpt. After that, you'll learn how to block out the base mesh, which is created by separating the main forms of the animal into different parts. Then, you will build upon the base and refine the secondary shapes of the animal. Next, you will create accessories and armor for your animal using 3DS Max and Zbrush. Finally, you will add the final polish and details to your sculpt. When you're finished with this sculpting course, you'll not only know the process for creating stylized animals in Zbrush but, also be able to apply the same techniques you've learned to any animal you create in the future. Software required: Zbrush 4R7, 3DS Max 2016.

Why monitor calibration and room setup matter

You've just finished grading your project. You’ve uploaded it to the web and can’t wait for viewers to see it. But now you ask yourself the question: “Will the project look the same on viewers’ screens as it did on mine?” While there’s no way to control how your viewers watch your project, you can control your own grading environment. But how do you do that? And how much is this going to cost? This three-part video series will answer both of those questions, so that you can be confident in the quality of your color grading on every project.

Video 1, we'll explore how to setup a proper grading environment, so that you can eliminate color contamination in your suite and create the best possible setup so that your eyes respond accurately to color and contrast. You might think that setting up a color-ready room would be really expensive, but you’ll be surprised to find out that this can be done the right way for very little money.

Video 2, we’ll take a look at the most important element of a grading suite: monitoring options. If you’ve ever heard on the internet that you can’t use a computer monitor for grading, this is absolutely not true! Especially if all of your projects are going to be viewed on the web. We’ll explore a number of excellent computer monitors as well as high-end external monitors and hardware for an even greater level of accuracy. No matter your budget or your project needs, this video will find a monitor that’s right for you!

Video 3, we’ll take a look at options for monitor calibration including a range of display probes as well as what to do if external calibration tools are out of your budget. You’ll also learn how to manually calibrate an external monitor, which is great skill to have not just as a colorist, but also for working in the field.

BONUS! PDF quick-reference guide that will walk you through all of the information presented in the videos, with links to find out more about all of the recommended products.

This is the definitive guide to grading suite setup that I would have wanted when I was setting up my first room. Stop wasting time with misinformation on the internet. Save yourself the frustration and get this video series today!

Duration 16h 30m With Project Files MP4

For over a decade, ZBrush has been the industry standard tool for digital sculpting. It is used for visual effects in blockbuster films, video game assets, toy production, fine art, and collectable sculpting as well as concept design. Introduction to ZBrush 4r8 with Madeleine Scott-Spencer provides the most comprehensive set of instructional videos ever created for ZBrush users, covering everything from the absolute basics, to more advanced sculpting and detailing topics. Over the course of 16 hours of instructional video, Madeleine provides a detailed explanation of each tool and process from a practical approach with an emphasis on technique. She also demonstrates sculpting, texturing and detailing workflows. The lessons start with a brief overview of the UI for the novice, along with a few “Quickstart” lessons on sculpting using various core techniques as well as an in depth lesson on painting creature skins from scratch using polypaint. Madeleine then moves into the individual feature sets, including all of the new features and plugins for ZBrush 4r8, including Booleans, VDM brushes, 3D Alphas, 3D Text and more, all while showing how many of the features and tools work together in a project based context. Lessons on working with ZBrush in conjunction with other 3D applications, in this case Keyshot, are also included. For a more comprehensive breakdown of the myriad topics of this title, be sure to reference the chapter list and corresponding titles.
