SURFORGE v1.1.2
https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/level-design/surforge-79171

Surforge - 3D rendered PBR texturing In Unity.

Surforge is an editor extension that enables you to easily make high-quality 3d rendered PBR textures from scratch directly in Unity, with an extremely productive and intuitive workflow.

The exported maps are fully compatible with Unity Standard Shader, looking exactly the same as while you working on them.

It's a modeling toolset, kitbash library, map render, and material composer. All in one, everything you need to create great textures.

New in 1.1.2

- Unity 2018.1.6f1 compatibility hotfix.

ChangeLog

Major Features

- Full control: tweak any material aspect in real-time with instant feedback.
- GPU Render: high-quality ambient occlusion, dirt, worn edges baking in seconds.
- UV island based symmetry.
- Detail Tool: add texture details with a few mouse clicks.
- Material drag-n-drop with realtime feedback.

- Rich library of mesh based and resolution independent signs, stripes, warning labels.
- Editable text labels, random text labels with mouse click.
- Labels interact with specular/gloss, normal, ao and worn edges.
- Real time emission control.
- Shrinking/expanding texture elements.
- Easy adjustment of material specular and glossiness.
- Real time materials shuffle.
- Preview with skybox selection.
- Built-in control of levels directly in shader (similar to levels in Photoshop).
- Celtic ornament tool, with automated braids and overlaps.

System requirements

Unity 5.4 or higher (Personal or Pro), Shader model 3.5 Directx 11 compatible GPU required to run Surforge. You also need at least 8gb ram to render 4096 resolution maps.

Surforge well optimized to run fine on modern systems, however, it is GPU based, so powerful video card is desirable.

Exported results (which are standard sets of textures) can be used in a wide range, including mobile, depending on the shaders with which they will be used.

Installation

- Import Surforge into a clean new project.

- Press “Go Ahead” button to update scripts for your Unity version.

- If something went wrong, you may need to press "Window - Layouts - Revert Factory Settings". Although this should not be necessary in this version.

Useful hints

- Drag and drop your meshes, not complete model assets. Meshes can be seen if you uncover your model asset content.

- Good UVs without folding is the key for great textures. You could make in with Blender (free tool).

- You may set texturePreview/composer rotation X to -90 in your scene for Blender models.

CGMasters & Creative Shrimp - Hard Surface Modeling in Blender

$

The hard-surface modeling industry is booming, no surprises since the love for hard surface creation has been strong for a long time! Now the amount of the opportunities out there for hard-surface modelers is IMMENSE: concept art for Sci-Fi movies, props for video games, real-world robotic design, 3d printing - you name it.

If you’ve ever seen the art of Daniel Bystedt, Master Xeon, Vitaly Bulgarov or Neil Blevins and any number of other amazing artists, you may know that feeling of awe and excitement… and frustration. Like, how do they manage to create such realistic, detailed models?

THE COMMON PROBLEMS
Maybe you have come across these too, we want to give a huge shout out to people who shared their modeling concerns with us on emails and Twitter...

- Triangles and NGons are a headache
- The boolean operations are really hard to master
- Ways to create nice bevelled edges
- Cutting holes into curved surfaces
- General shading issues
- Topology is a mess
- Where to add edgeloops, how to control edgeflow
- Creating smooth transitions from one shape to another

WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE
It actually took each of us more than 10 years to accumulate enough modeling knowledge to be confident about it.

AN AWFUL LONG TIME!
So basically we thought, what would it look like if we condensed all the knowledge required to get up and running with the hard-surface modeling, including practical AND theoretical stuff, and just put together a video course.
That’s everything you need to know to create robots and other hard-surface stuff in Blender. The comprehensive guide to the super powerful modeling workflows plus 6 hours of theory. All the right boxes ticked.
It’s like watching a whole Game of Thrones season, but about 3d modeling in Blender. It probably won’t make you Vitaly Bulgarov, but you’ll feel WAY more confident about your modeling skills.

WHAT'S INSIDE?
- Video Info: 13+ hours, 2560 x 1440, MP4 format
- 80+ Hard-surface Modeling Tutorials
- 2 Workflows: Sub-d and Boolean
- Software Used: Blender 2.79b
- Skill Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Unity - Simple Obj v1.4

https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/input-management/simple-obj-22195

Let users spawn their own 3d models in your game

With SimpleOBJ you can turn Wavefront .OBJ files into working 3D models in your game at runtime.

- import Wavefront .OBJ models
- import big meshes with over 64K vertices
- imports submeshes
- imports materials
- can run in background thread

SimpleOBJ is an easy way to import OBJ models. It imports vertices, normals, uv map and triangles. (polygons are automatically converted to triangles). It also supports multiple meshes and sub meshes. If you provide a .MTL material file this can be imported as well.

When the mesh is bigger than Unity's limit of 64K vertices, it still gets imported and is automatically split into 2 or more parts.

Simply download an OBJ file into a string;
pass the string to the import function;
and receive a GameObject in return.

Like so:
myGameObject = ObjImporter.Import(objString);

All source code and multiple examples are included and written in C#. There are no DLL's or hidden stuff.

View the online webplayer demo (also included in the package) here
The documentation can be viewed on our website.
The forum support thread can be found here.

Note: Does not support skinned meshes, imports only the most commonly used MTL properties

Version 1.4:
Support for relative indices

Version 1.3:
Support for right handed coordinate systems

Version 1.2:
Support for large meshes improved
Support for Unity 5

Version 1.1:
Support for large meshes
Import .MTL files
Apply textures
Import in background thread

Unity 2018 Shaders and Effects Cookbook - Third Edition

Bring realism to your games by mastering post-processing effects and advanced shading techniques in Unity 2018.

-Book Description-

Since their introduction to Unity, shaders have been seen as notoriously difficult to understand and implement in games. Complex mathematics has always stood in the way of creating your own shaders and attaining the level of realism you crave.

Unity 2018 Shaders and Effects Cookbook changes that by giving you a recipe-based guide to creating shaders using Unity. It will show you everything you need to know about vectors, how lighting is constructed with them, and how textures are used to create complex effects without the heavy math.

This book starts by teaching you how to use shaders without writing code with the post-processing stack. Then, you’ll learn how to write shaders from scratch, build up essential lighting, and finish by creating stunning screen effects just like those in high-quality 3D and mobile games. You'll discover techniques, such as normal mapping, image-based lighting, and animating your models inside a shader. We'll explore how to use physically based rendering to treat light the way it behaves in the real world. At the end, we’ll even look at Unity 2018’s new Shader Graph system.

With this book, what seems like a dark art today will be second nature by tomorrow.

-What You Will Learn-

Understand physically based rendering to fit the aesthetic of your game

Write shaders from scratch in ShaderLab and HLSL/Cg

Combine shader programming with interactive scripts to add life to your materials

Design efficient shaders for mobile platforms without sacrificing their realism

Use state-of-the-art techniques, such as volumetric explosions and fur shading

Master the math and algorithms behind the most used lighting models

Understand how shader models have evolved and how you can create your own
